Nine songs fill our 10th studio recording, proudly presented as “Two Ties”. Seven brand new compositions, reworkings of two older tunes, and featuring four different lead vocalists and 5 composers, we now have another collection of songs with which we are very happy and hope you will all enjoy. The title of the album comes from a line in “Roberta”, the first track of the album: “I’m travelin’ with Roberta and two ties”.  

 

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the band embarked on this year’s edition of “Band Camp” at Big Swan Studio in Long Lake, Minnesota. As you may have guessed already from previous reports, a good time was had by all as we shared great music, food, and love in the process of creating this collection.

 

Band Camp always starts with a couple of technical challenges for Jim and Kenny as the recording equipment is fired up with new software updates and hardware changes, but the pain was pretty minimal this year and we were able to dive right in as the rest of the band arrived. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Spending these days working hard with great friends, and experiencing the joy that creating music together provides has resulted in the production of another Welcome Drive album that allows us to share that with all of you!
